RFA Engineering ( is seeking a growth oriented manufacturing engineer to be part of the fabrication group at our customer's facility in Brooklyn Park, MN.

The employee will develop and implement manufacturing procedures, methods, and processes designed to maximize utilization of labor, material and equipment, improve production efficiency and reduce unit costs.  They will work as an individual contributor and as part of a project team to analyze, identify, and apply engineering techniques to solve manufacturing related problems. 


  • Work with shop floor personnel and material scheduling, design engineering and other functional groups to understand and resolve welding and steel fabrication production problems and make improvements in shop methods and procedures.
  • Train weld technicians in the use of fixtures.
  • Will not have supervisory responsibilities.
  • Act as manufacturing engineering representative for maintenance focus team activities.
  • Interact with computerized manufacturing bill of materials, drawings and routing file.
  • Study and recommend tooling and capital equipment requirements to address production and safety issues on both current and new products.
  • Create, document and maintain efficient manufacturing methods, processes and quality procedures.


  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering from an accredited engineering program
  • Entry level to 2 years experience is acceptable
  • Working knowledge of work measurement, quality assurance, production control, material flow, manufacturing procedures/processes and computer systems.
  • Welding/fabrication work experience related to fabrication methods, time standards and standard work.
  • Knowledge of 3D solid modeling software is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of MIG welding techniques and weld inspection processes.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced team environment.
