Mechanical Designer or Technologist - Mobile Equipment

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking experienced candidates to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. You will work with our customer's staff to provide highly engineered, optimized designs of soil compactor equipment.  This is an indefinite assignment.

Mechanical Designer
The job duties for this position is associated with the component and systems design of soil compaction equipment.  Exact responsibilities will depend on the candidates own experience and areas of expertise, but it may include:

  • Design of Operator Environment & Interiors (Cab)
  • Design of formed and welded sheet metal structures
  • Extensive use of Creo and TeamCenter
  • Work with engineers, manufacturing, and suppliers to develop the most efficient designs

Job Requirements

  • AAS, BSME, or Mechanical Design related degree with 2 to 5 years experience
  • A proven mechanical aptitude through employment, personal experience, or education, including machinery operation, maintenance, repair, metal fabrication, and other “hands on" experience.
  • Candidates must have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Candidates must have ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Previous design experience of off-road mobile equipment is a plus.
  • Experience using Creo is required.
  • Experience with TeamCenter PDM software is a plus.
  • Ability to understand and apply GD&T.
